Rap’s funkstress supreme Georgia Anne Muldrow breaks off another video from her Thoughtiverse Unmarred, LP. This go around Georgia takes us through the dark hallways of her mind over the guitars licks of “Arkansas.” On the track she drops some flag pole climbing power bars like “Please don’t be decieved by my breasts/ Ovaries usher in nothing less than greatness…”
She broke down the meaning of that line and others in our “Verse Behavior” interview:
“This is one of the first rap verses I recorded. It used to stop at “please don’t be deceived,” but once I stopped I added in “ovaries not less than greatness.” The experience of being a mother and seeing my kid and being in awe was like “Hey, I am a woman. I am not here trying to rap like no dude. I’m not up here trying to be no dude.” I can brag about being able to bring children into the world. I don’t really subscribe to being a man when I rap. A lot of females do, but that’s not really my angle.”
