Be Inspired

WatchLOUD Presents “Be Inspired” Workshop July 22nd, Philadelphia

“Be Inspired” is where experience and aspiration intersect. It is a unique opportunity to connect today’s entertainment industry veterans with the young people who will shape that field in years to come. Via a series of panels featuring experts in their respective fields, young people will hear first hand about the highs and lows of the the paths to success.

“Be Inspired,” moderated by WatchLOUD.coms managing editor, Jerry Barrow, will take place in three cities: Philadelphia, New York and Atlanta with an audience of 100 to 150 eager young people. Our panelists will be pulled from radio, record labels, fashion, media and more. Each panel will be filmed and edited to be distributed online at and our respective social platforms.

We will be kicking things off in Philadelphia on July 22nd and the Venice Beach Performing Arts & Recreation Center speaking with two people who have contributed decades of work and experience to the music scene in the city of Brotherly Love, Laiya St. Clair and Marc Byers.

Laiya St.Clair is a seasoned on air personality and television host. Her contributions to music have garnered a proclamation from The City of Philadelphia and #19 on the Source magazine’s Power 30 In Radio. Most recently she has been a co-host of Radio One’s Philadelphia Morning Shows, host of Music Choice’s Essence Festival special,  music commentator for Huffington Post Live, pop culture expert for Fox 29 and music insider for Philly 360°. Laiya’s 15+ years of experience includes being on air talent at both of Philadelphia’s urban stations.

Marc Byers was “the plug” before it was called the plug. He is the Co-CEO & Founder of Rockstar Entertainment along with his brother Sherman Byers. Marc’s experience as a former Atlantic Records Executive served as the gateway to his influential role in the industry, which ignited when he stepped out of corporate America taking that advanced education into the whirlwind of entrepreneurship to assist Philadelphia’s untapped talent in securing recording deals. He has worked with talents such as Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Usher, LaLa Anthony, Monie Love and managed Grammy Nominated Philadelphia Producers Dre and Vidal.
