Cash Money Is Suing Tidal For The Free Wayne Album

You had to imagine there would be some complications with Lil Wayne, an artist still formally signed to Cash Money Records, releasing an album on Tidal without any apparent permission from the people that own the rights to his music.

TMZ is reporting that Cash Money Records has filed a lawsuit against Jay Z’s streaming service for releasing Wayne’s FWA. The lawsuit allegedly calls the move “a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service.” The label is said to be suing for $50 million and even goes as far as to call out Wayne’s album for getting “tepid reviews.” Damn, Baby.
