Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” has officially become a battlecry for the masses.
Students leaving a Black Lives Matter conference at Cleveland State University yesterday (July 28) were met with police aggression when they egregiously apprehended a 14-year-old boy for allegedly being drunk in public. A crowd formed to block the police cruiser’s path, and that’s when the pepper spray came out, according to ABC News 5 Cleveland.
The crowd linked arms and started shouting the hook “We gon’ be alright!” in solidarity against the police. And Geraldo Rivera said that hip-hop never helped anyone.
A statement released by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority stated that the boy was examined by EMS and released back into his mother’s custody.
