There are few co-signs in music that are as coveted as Dr. Dre’s. Having overseen the careers of Grammy winning, multi-platinum artists like Snoop, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar, his opinion carries considerable weight.
During a recent star-studded episode of his show “The Pharmacy” on Beats 1 Radio, the Good Dr. invited Jamla recording artist Rapsody to the studio and declared, “Rapsody, you better check for her. It’s official. It’s truly official. Believe it.” Rapsody was the only guest MC on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, contributing a dynamic verse to “Complexion.”
Rap, who has repeatedly stated how much Lauryn Hill inspires her, freestyled over her classic “Lost Ones” from The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill.
Rapsody was in great company as Royce Da 5’ 9”, LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes were the other guests on Saturday’s show. During the recap Dre reiterated, “Rapsody, that’s my new favorite female MC. I’m gonna keep it all the way 1000 with you. She’s hot!”
