Big KRIT Drops Surprise Mixtape It’s Better This Way

*UPDATE* K.R.I.T. wasn’t kidding, guys. Earlier today (October 14), he dropped a new tape out of the sky via his Twitter called It’s Better This Way. Narrated by DJ Drama and featuring guest spots from Warren G, Ludacris, Big Sant, B.J. The Chicago Kid, K. Camp, and more, the 14-track tape can be streamed below and downloaded right now over at DatPiff. And yes, the previously released “86” is on there. Go forth and vibe.

Ever since he released Cadillactica last November, Big K.R.I.T. has been relatively quiet on the music front for most of 2015. Well if you’re a K.R.I.T. fan, good news! “86” might no longer be the only music we’ll get from the Meridian, MI rapper/producer this year.

“I got a new project coming out for the people. It’s gon’ be out very soon. Like very soon. And I feel like overall it’s gon’ definitely help what’s going on with the tour,” K.R.I.T. mentioned in an interview with Hot New Hip-Hop on the red carpet of the BET Hip-Hop Awards taping this past weekend. “People gon’ be excited. New content. All that, man…This new project is definitely gonna be out probably by the time this hit the air.”

We can also expect a honest to goodness album coming in 2016 as well. Big K.R.I.T. is gearing up to start his Kritically Acclaimed Tour at the end of the month, with a stop at New York City’s Highline Ballroom on October 28 featuring weed wordsmith Smoke DZA. 2016 might very well belong to the King Remembered In Time.
