Ever since Hallways saw release last September, Homeboy Sandman has kept to himself for the majority of 2015. He did grace fans with a few singles on Soundcloud (including “Meet The Mets” from the cassette tape he released exclusively while touring with Hail Mary Mallon earlier this year), but otherwise, word on a new album has been sparse. But Sandman has a show coming to whet fans’ appetites.
He’ll be taking the stage at the Blue Note Jazz Café this coming Saturday (October 24) to dish out some new songs. “I haven’t put out a record for planetary consumption this year, for the first time since 2011,” he explained. “I’ve been working on so much stuff that I feel bloated. I gotta kick these rhymes and get this new stuff out, know what I’m sayin’?” There’s even a chance that he’ll be dropping some older tracks that have never officially seen the light of day, including a joint about selling CDs at open mic events and advertising on Snocap and MySpace.
“I’ve got a plan for global dissemination of this stuff upcoming, but I wanna get it off my chest right now,” he clarified. Even so, if you’re in the NYC area, make sure to catch Sandman at the Blue Note Jazz Café this Saturday, October 24th at 12:30AM for some exclusive jams.
