It’s no secret that hip-hop and comics go together better than most things in this world; a fact that Marvel confirmed earlier this year with their Run The Jewels variant covers for Deadpool and Howard The Duck. Later this year, they’re taking that relationship to the next level.

Marvel announced today that it’s going to be releasing at least 50 new #1s, each with a hip-hop homage variant cover. “For years, Marvel Comics and Hip-Hop culture have been engaged in an ongoing dialogue,” Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso proclaimed in a press release. “Beginning this October, we will shine a spotlight on the seamless relationship between those two unique forces.”

A handful of the variant covers have premiered online today and feature homages from across the hip-hop spectrum, past and present. Check out some of our favorites below.
