Smoke DZA And Pete Rock Are Working On An Album

Smoke DZA Pete Rock

Of all the New York collaborations to come to fruition, this is one that few people saw coming. During the NYC stop of Big K.R.I.T.’s Kritically Acclaimed Tour last night (October 28), Harlem’s own Smoke DZA brought out none other than Bronx legend Pete Rock to deejay his set, but that wasn’t the only surprise of the night.

Once their set was finished, DZA and Rock took to the middle of the stage to announce that they’re working on an album together. No word on a title or a release date, but DZA did reveal that it’s “90% done.” Pete Rock himself revealed the news a few weeks ago on Hip Hop Since 87, but judging from the raucous crowd reaction last night, hearing it live from both artists mouthes has primed ears for some Kushed Rock goodness.
