Between the series on their YouTube page and their deal with HBO, Vice has plenty of experience with content ready for television. It’s been rumored for months that Vice would be getting their own TV channel, and today they officially confirmed that it’s called VICELAND.
Original content from Vice subsidiaries like Noisey, Munchies, and Motherboard, like Action Bronson’s F*ck, That’s Delicious, will find its way onto the network, as will a bunch of new shows and documentaries that are shown off in this sweeping 9-minute trailer. One show revolves around Compton, CA and has interview footage featuring Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg, while another follows Michael K. Williams through the Black Market of Newark, NJ. The Walt Disney Company has reportedly thrown $200 million at this new channel, but looking solely at the content, their money will be well spent. Check out the trailer above.
