Torae Previews “Entitled” At Log Cabin Studios In NYC

If you judge a man by the company he keeps, Brooklyn’s Torae Carr may want to consider a run for public office. The MC from Coney Island recently held a private listening event for his second official solo project, Entitled, at NY’s Log Cabin Studios.  Many of his peers and supports in the industry (producer Amadeus, DJ Boogie Blind, Masta Ace and Marco Polo to name a few) came through to sip Effen Vodka, debone wings and hear what is without question his best work to date.

The guest list was only challenged by the album’s tracklist, which includes stellar vocal contributions from the likes of Saul Williams, Phonte Coleman and Mack Wilds over production from Pete Rock, Nottz, Jahlil Beats, Mr. Porter and more.

Torae released his first mixtape, Daily Conversation, in 2008 and has recorded several collaborative projects with Marco Polo (Double Barrel) and Skyzoo (Barrel Brothers) and EPs like “Heart Failure” and “Admission of Guilt.” His first solo album, For The Record, was released in 2011.

Check out the footage from the evening above with a sampling of the track “Get Down.”
