Last year J. Cole took a grassroots approach to promoting his 2014 Forest Hills Drive album, visiting fans across the country to play them the project before it was released to the public. Like the album itself, it ingratiated himself to the people that mattered most – his hardcore fans.
Cole has been laying low as of late, but recently he continued the face-to-face interaction that he’s known for by visiting a fan named Tae Stackhouse in the hospital. Stackhouse, who’s sick with cancer, is a resident of Cole’s hometown in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and after his mother and aunt reached out to Cole, he came through to kick it. Huge props for that.
