Today Erykah Badu’s interview on the Breakfast Club went live, and during their conversation she talked about her upcoming mixtape (dropping on the 27th), how she never liked being put in the box of neo-soul, and which one of her baby daddies (The D.O.C., Andre 3000, Common, or Jay Electronica) had the best bars.
Towards the end of the interview, Jay Elect himself storms in to make sure Charlamagne isn’t offending Erykah, and the discussion turns to when Jay Electronica’s album is coming out. Badu jokes that she was the one who put the kibosh on Jay Elec-Yarmulke’s album, and she’s the one who will decide when it comes out. Well damn…
She also says that Jay doesn’t have to put an album out because “Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge)” is “the best mixtape I’ve ever heard.”
