Drake & Rihanna Are The Most Streamed Artists On Spotify This Year

Spotify’s growing popularity is showing in its annual Year in Music list, with artists like Drake, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, and more contributing to 75 million listeners and over 20 billion hours of streaming to date, according to The Independent.

While Ed Sheeran takes the title of most streamed artist of all time (a title formerly held by Eminem), Drake will go down as the most streamed artist of 2015, with over 1.8 billion streams under his belt. Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and Beyoncé are among the most streamed female artists (though their numbers weren’t listed for some reason…). Considering that she hasn’t released an album in three years, it’s impressive that Rihanna’s managed to rack up so many streams off the strength of singles like “Bitch Better Have My Money” and “FourFiveSeconds” alone. Those number are sure to go up once Anti sees the light of day and makes its way to Spotify from Tidal.
