Kendrick Lamar has a lot to celebrate in 2015. Between To Pimp A Butterfly and the intimate 8-city tour he put on earlier this year, the California MC remains on the tip of hip-hop’s tongue. Unfortunately, it’s not all positive.
TMZ reports that a fan named Whitney Larkins bought a $350 vip meet and greet ticket to Kendrick’s “Kunta’s Groove Sessions,” but tried going one step further by emailing K.Dot’s manager Dave Free asking for some “one-on-one” time with him; he allegedly agreed to the tune of $10,000 cash. Shortly afterward, she was informed that she was banned from the show and that her $350 would be refunded. As if that wasn’t wild enough, she’s now suing for $1 million due to her “deep sadness” and calls Free an “arrogant, snotty and an all-around bad dude from the rooter to the tooter!”
She did make sure to say that Kendrick is “one of the greatest rappers alive of all time who is on par with Tupac,” but I doubt that’ll make things any easier.
