Watch Chance The Rapper Perform “Somewhere In Paradise” On SNL

Chance The Rapper took the stage on Saturday Night Live last night (December 12), making history as the first fully independent artist to perform in the show’s 41-season run. The Chicago MC/activist performed the bouncy new song “Somewhere In Paradise,” along with Jeremih and R.Kelly, which also landed on iTunes for free download shortly after.

Chance has actually been playing this fan-favorite song in one form or another at live shows for at least a year, so it’s good to finally hear a full studio version of it. He also played a particularly soulful rendition of “Sunday Candy” where he made reference to Jason Van Dyke, the former cop charged last month with the 2014 murder of 11-year-old Laquan McDonald. Check out both performances above and check out a live rendition of the song from Governors Ball 2014 below.
