2015 has been a roller coaster ride for Kendrick Lamar, who arguably broke through the ceiling of rap superstardom. The growing ubiquity of To Pimp A Butterfly in all aspects of popular culture gets the exclamation point it deserves today on New Year’s Eve (December 31) with the drop of the new short film God Is Gangsta.

The short film is really two music videos joined together at the hip; the Jack Begert-directed “u” features Kendrick having a drunken shouting match with his own reflection, while “For Sale?,” directed by PANAM/ERA, is a rapid-fire cut affair shot at La Silencio, David Lynch’s club in Paris. Both videos were co-directed by Kendrick & Dave Free’s collective “The Little Homies,” so give them a look above and get that 2016 in perspective.
