Producer and Brainfeeder label head Flying Lotus is undoubtedly one of music’s most revered independent forces. His trademark blend of electronic, hip-hop, and jazz sounds still bumps harder than most, and he’s taken it to the silver screen for the first time in the short film FUCKKKYOUUU.
Directed by Eddie Alcazar, the short film is a black-and-white head trip that’s as alluring as it is creepy. “With the ability to travel in time, a lonely girl finds love and comfort by connecting with her past self,” the YouTube description reads. “Eventually faced with rejection she struggles with her identity and gender, and as time folds onto itself only one of them can remain.”
FlyLo’s trademark sounds are everywhere throughout the 8-minute short film and add a chilling ambience. It’s set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this week, but check it out above.
