The City Of Compton Recites Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” In Grammy Video

Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” morphed from To Pimp A Butterfly deep cut to somber club hit to Black Lives Matter anthem so gradually it came as a surprise to many. Now that TPAB is leading with the most Grammy nominations this year, they’ve taken a hands-on approach to marketing the man they snubbed two years ago.

The Grammys recently posted a video to YouTube of people walking the streets of Compton reciting bars from “Alright”. The homey vibe is amplified once Kendrick himself shows up and gets crazy with a crowd of people in a parking lot. He’s set to perform at The Grammys on February 15, and if it’s anything like his set at last year’s BET Awards or his recent video for “These Walls,” then we’re all in for a show.
