Timbaland Refused To Play A Charity Event Because They Had The Wrong Champagne

During a Detroit charity show in support of Michigan’s current poisoned water crisis last week, producer Timbaland allegedly embodied the ugly side of celebrity.

The New York Daily News reports that the famed producer wouldn’t perform for partygoers because Club Bleu offered him the wrong kind of champagne. Their lack of Jay-Z’s Ace of Spades champagne didn’t stop Timbo and his crew from running through 15 premium bottles of liquor, according to club co-owner Mitchell Jaworski.

According to his contract, Timbo was paid in advance to DJ for a half-hour and perform a handful of songs, but he supposedly took the stage around 1AM and “stood there” in defiance while a different DJ played. Even worse, Timbo’s team demanded to be shown the contract that required him to perform at all. “Finally management relented and literally had to wake Timbaland up so he could proceed to stand behind the decks and nod his head for 30 minutes,” Jaworski said.

The event still managed to raise $3,000 for Flint, but pettiness is still pettiness. This isn’t even the only example of Timbo and his team’s classlessness. Fans who showed out for the Philadelphia stop of his “King Stays King” tour had similar complaints, alleging that “He didn’t do anything but just stand there and drink champagne.”

Meanwhile, Pusha T just donated two semi-trucks full of water to Flint, MI. At least Virginia can take pride in that.
