Today Meek Mill was sentenced to a minimum of 90 days of house arrest for violating the terms of his probation, according to TMZ. A Philadelphia court judge sentenced him to 6 to 12 months in county jail, but said he can serve that time on house arrest.
Meek is also banned from doing any work besides charitable work – that means rapping, whether it be in a studio or live on stage, or even releasing any new music.
After 90 days the judge will re-evaluate Meek’s sentencing and consider shortening it.
Meek began probation in 2009 following a drug and gun conviction. Then, in November of 2015, he left Philly to attend the AMA’s. He also failed a urine test.
The MMG rapper has to turn himself in by March 1st, after which he’ll be wearing a monitoring device on his ankle.
