For more than a decade Actor Omari Hardwick has infused the small and large screen with intense and memorable portrayals. Whether he’s a calculating drug dealer turned club owner in “Power” or lovesick roadie in Sparkle, his acting chops are well established. But fewer are aware of the way with words the brother has. The accomplished poet has appeared on several albums including Eric Roberson’s Mr Nice Guy, pouring his heart out on “Love’s Withdrawal.”
In a recent interview with Loni of “The Real” before the NAACP Image Awards, Hardwick was asked about his poetry skills and he dropped an impromptu verse that left the host melted in her seat, even weaving her name into it.
Hardwick’s “Ghost” St. Patrick returns this summer in the third season of Starz “Power” and in the upcoming drama D Is for Detroit.
