Watch White Boiz (Krondon & Shafiq Husayn) Explain How “God Understands Niguhs”

Last year, Strong Arm Steady MC Krondon and Sa-Ra multi-instrumentalist/producer Shafiq Husayn came together to form the duo White Boiz. They dropped the explicitly political and musically skeletal project Neighborhood Wonderful in October of last year via Stones Throw, but it still gets some serious burn around these parts.

A video for the song “G.U.N. (God Understands Niguhs)” appeared on Stones Throw’s YouTube channel earlier this month (February 17). Archival footage of Civil Rights protests and the Vietnam War accompanies Kron, Shafiq, and guest MC Chace Infinite as they talk about the catch-22 of guns in the ghetto (“I always got one, cause I don’t wanna be the nigga caught without one”).

Neighborhood Wonderful was one of our most underrated projects of last year and featured guest appearances from Blu, Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, Iman Omari, and more.

Kron and Shafiq explained “G.U.N.” to us in an exclusive interview that you can peep below:
