Have you ever wanted to see an action movie from the first-person in the vein of Crank? Good news! Hardcore Henry is coming your way this time next month.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the film follows Henry, a man with no memory of his past brought back from the brink of death as a cybernetic warrior by his wife. Their reunion is short-lived, as she’s kidnapped by a crime lord, who takes her off to Moscow, with Henry in hot pursuit.
Sounds pretty conventional, right? Like something out of any Jason Bourne movie. The kicker here is that it’s all from a first-person perspective, filmed with Go Pro cameras. Movies have flirted with the idea in the past, but Hardcore Henry will be the first of its kind.
The film sparked a bidding war between Universal, Lionsgate, and STX Entertainment, with STX paying $10 million to distribute. Hardcore Henry is out April 8 and stars District 9’s Sharlto Copley, Haley Bennett, and Tim Roth. Check the trailer above.
