New year, new Rhythm Roulette from the good people over at Mass Appeal. Meridian, MI rapper/producer Big K.R.I.T. is their guest of honor this time around, and he’s got some disco and synth pop to chop up into something special.
For those who don’t know, Rhythm Roulette calls on producers of all stripes to pick three records while blindfolded in a shop of their choice and make beats through sampling. K.R.I.T. picks out I’m Yours by Linda Clifford, Seatrain’s self-titled record, and Culture Club, which he manages to flip into the brand of Southern-fried funk we’ve come to know and love from K.R.I.T. Check it out above and read our exclusive interview with him here.
K.R.I.T. released the song he created based on the beat, calling it “Sticks and Stones.”
