Spring is finally here, and with it, AfroPunk has announced the lineup for their annual Brooklyn festival. AfroPunk has been growing steadily in Commodore Barry Park for the last 11 years, and headliners the likes of Ice Cube, Tyler, The Creator, and Flying Lotus are reflective of that.
The Saturday lineup is stacked with popping acts old (George Clinton, Saul Williams, Janelle Monáe) and new (Young Fathers, Earl Sweatshirt, Angel Haze, Shabazz Palaces). A potential Odd Future reunion and a potential Woke superjam from Flying Lotus, George Clinton, & Shabazz Palaces have be shaking in my seat.
Outside of the superjam featuring Bad Brains, Fishbone, and Living Colour, Sunday’s acts are all relatively fresh or lesser known faces, but it’s bound to be a show. AfroPunk will take place August 27-28 and tickets go on sale soon.
