The 5 Best Moments from Roots Picnic

With acts such as DMX, Lil Uzi, Usher, Migos, and more, the 9th Annual Roots Picnic was easily one of the best and most cohesive festivals of the weekend. If you weren’t able to make your way to Philly on Saturday, we’ve got you covered. Here are the 5 best moments from the 2016 Roots Picnic:

Willow and Will Smith perform “Summertime”:

Willow Smith closed out her set by performing “Summertime” alongside her father and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Once the Philly native hit the stage, the audience went wild and rapped along with the Fresh Prince.

Lil Uzi’s performance:

Lil Uzi Vert put on for his hometown during his set. The 21-year old showed his fans a lot of love as he brought Meek Mill and DJ Drama on stage with him. The Philly native even hopped on top of a food court to make sure all of his fans could get the Uzi Vert experience.

DMX reunited with his father on stage:

Outside of giving an amazing performance filled with prayer and his hits, DMX shared a special moment with his fans. Overcome with emotion, the 45-year old rapper reunited with his father on stage. “A miracle only happens on the platform of a tragedy. Unless there’s some fucked up shit going on, where the fuck is the miracle at?” Word, X.

Usher’s Performance:

As headliner of Roots Picnic, Usher backed by The Roots closed out the festival in a soulful way. Decked out in a Supreme t-shirt that paid homage to Mohammed Ali, the singer brought out Lil Jon to perform his hit “Yeah” and Yuna for “Crush.”

Usher is hands down one of my favorite performers now #rootspicnic2016
