Danny Brown’s been prospering on the edges since he first broke onto the scene with 2011’s The Hybrid. Detroit techno, grime, boom-bap; you name it, Danny’s innovated it in some way, shape or form.
Today (June 14), Danny’s proved he’s still evolving at a steady rate with his signing to Warp Records (!!) and the chaotically glitchy video for “When It Rain,” his first solo single in three years. Paul White’s wicked thumping production is paired with a worn VHS collage of images and Danny’s frantic raps about coming up in the streets of Detroit.
He’s awake and hungry for the prize, which is just the way we like it.
