Prince Be Of P.M. Dawn Dead At 46

Taking Prince Rodgers Nelson was not enough for 2016. According to TMZ, Prince Be, the lead singer of R&B/Rap group P.M. Dawn has died due to complications from an on-going battle with diabetes. He was 46 years old.

The singer named Artell Cordes passed away Friday at his home in New Jersey from renal kidney disease. Cordes was half of P.M. Dawn with his brother Jarrett. The two were a hit in the 1990s thanks to their mellow yet upbeat track “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss,” and the Boomerang Soundtrack ballad, “I’d Die Without You.”

Many music fans consider PM Dawn the progenitor to emo rapper/singer Drake and the last current active member of PM Dawn, their paternal cousin Gregory Lewis Carr II aka Doc G, even Tweeted that sentiment to the OVO star last year from the official account.

And just this past May DJ Ted Smooth sampled P.M. Dawn for a remix to Mack Wilds “Love In The 90z” featuring vocals by Torae.

Rest in Peace.
