10 Hip-Hop Albums That Are Definitely, Probably, Not Dropping Today


Music Fridays have become a crazy time with all of the rumors and pump fakes about releases, but we’re here to help you out. Here are the albums that are definitely coming out today, the ones that are probably coming and the ones that are NOT and have been pushed to a later date.


1. The Lessondary— Tanya Morgan, Spec Boogie, Elucid, Jermiside, Che Grand and Ilyas — dropping their debut Ahead of Schedule.  True to its name it dropped a day early on their Bandcamp page where it’s available on cassette, cd or mp3 and there are a limited quantity of shirts as well. It’ll be at all other digital retailers tomorrow on 6/24.

2. RiFF Raff: Peach Panther (is really dropping according to iTunes)

The rapper from is releasing the follow-up to his 2014 debut Neon Icon. In August 2013, in an interview with XXL, Riff Raff explained the album’s title saying, “It’s like a whole new world that’s just all me. From going from nothing to becoming this shining star…so I mean, yeah, Neon Icon is just neon everything. It can’t be stopped.”

3. Ugly Heroes: Everything in Between

Chicago spitter Verbal Kent, Detroit’s Red Pill and producer Apollo Brown unleash the follow-up to their 2013 group debut.  Watch the video to the dark first single “Unforgiven.”

4. DJ Shadow: The Mountain Will Fall

The fifth studio album from the the production great features appearances by Run the Jewels, Nils Frahm and Ernie Fresh. It’s his first studio album since 2011’s The Less You Know, the Better.[1]

5. Demrick: Collect Call

The Cali MC (by way of Philly) formerly known as Young De, is dropping his second album in as many years. Peep the Scoop Deville produced “Freak Show.”


6. Birdman: Ms. Gladys  

Baby seemed to be taking a break from shmanging Tony Braxton to record an album and it was scheduled to drop today, but there has been no mention of the album by Birdman in week’s. He is appearing on ESPN Friday so we assume it’s to plug the release.
