Even though last summer’s beef between Meek Mill and Drake is dead and buried, DJ Drama felt the need to point the world back to where it all started. During a stop at Hot 97 this morning (July 12), Drama explained that the whole feud started from a mixup involving the duo’s infamous collab “R.I.C.O.“:
“My involvement in the situation was the fact that [Meek] thought he was getting dissed with the line ‘to me the girl of your dreams is really not a challenge.’ I said, ‘Bro, he’s not dissing you.’ Those weren’t technically [Drake’s] bars.”
So Meek allegedly took that to mean that Drake didn’t write the bars himself, which led those Twitter fingers astray. Imagine how differently the last year would’ve played out if Meek had just kept his mouth shut.
Drama also addressed rumors that he leaked the Quentin Miller reference tracks for “R.I.C.O.” and Drake’s “Know Yourself” and . “Go ask Flex where he got the records from. He didn’t get them from me.”
Loose lips sink ships, as they say.
