Rich Homie Quan On Notorious B.I.G. Tribute: “I Will Forever Be Sorry To New York”

UPDATE: Quan’s feeling the heat, so he took to Instagram yesterday (July 12) to apologize for messing up the lyrics to Biggie’s “Get Money.”

“Once I got on stage, I had some technical difficulties and must admit that I got nervous. I will forever be sorry to New York, my fans, Biggie Smalls, Lil Kim, and all the Hip-Hop community for my performance,” he elaborated. “I hope you can accept my apology.”

Last night, VH1 honored female MCs for their first Hip Hop Honors in six years. The night went smooth as different artists hit the stage to pay homage to Salt N Pepa, Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah, and Lil Kim.

Later, Lil Kim took the stage to perform “Big Mama Thing,” “Lighters Up,” and of course “Get Money.” For some reason, Rich Homie Quan was chosen to perform Biggie’s verse alongside Kim— which would’ve been great if he didn’t forget all of the words.

As expected, Twitter showed no remorse for the Atlanta rapper.

Well, Lil Cease and Biggie’s daughter T’yanna Wallace both caught wind of Quan’s lyrical blunder. While Cease was easy on the “Some Type of Way” rapper, T’yanna wasn’t having it— rightfully so. The Junior M.A.F.I.A. rapper posted a couple of funny memes to Instagram and stating, “I’m Not Mad The At Rich Homie Tho..That Just Wasn’t His Setting!! That’s Still Da Homie #ItsAllGood.”

T’yanna took to Twitter to wait for Rich Homie’s excuse for the night. The 22-year old stated “This inspired me to make sure my kid knows every word to ‘Get Money’.” She even pinned a tweet from Janurary saying “Proper. Planning. Prevents. Poor. Performance.” Sheesh.

Rich Homie Quan definitely needs to do something to redeem himself…soon.
