Audio Push Gives It Up To ATCQ In “Check The Vibe” Video

Audio Push Check the Vibe

The influence of A Tribe Called Quest bleeds into just about every corner of hip-hop culture, from the positive afrocentric vibes to the jazzy textures of their music. Just a few short days after dedicating a New York City street to late member Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor, California duo Audio Push have coincidentally dropped the video for the ATCQ-inspired song “Check The Vibe” via Vibe today.

Inspired by Tribe’s Low End Theory staple “Check The Rhime,” the video sees the duo of Oktane and Price wearing their eccentricities on their sleeves as they drop bars about high school cyphers and how rap saved their lives over echoing keys and light horns. They even ape the structure of “Rhime” and have young doppelgängers breaking in the streets. Check the video out below and check our interview with the duo about their latest EP The Stone Junction here.
