Beatnick & K-Salaam Have Music Featured in The Olympics

Eyes from all around the world are glued on the 2016 Summer Olympics taking place in Rio de Janeiro this year, and Beatnick & K-Salaam are taking full advantage.

The production duo created montage music for the Olympics, which you listen to in the promo video below. “This is definitely something that we’re proud of,” Salaam said in a press release. “I have to give a lot of credit to Beatnick as well as Lab Fantasma in Brazil. I feel like we made something special because everybody’s trying to use these songs that we did in Brazil…We obviously struck a nerve with people.”

That said, Salaam’s not ignoring the context of this year’s games. It’s no secret that the Olympics have displaced many Brazilian residents and outright paved over the city of Rio to make room, which Salaam detailed in a Facebook post yesterday (August 10):
