“If you’re not first, you’re last” is the sage advice that Nascar driver Ricky Bobby keeps close to his heart in the comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby (which just celebrated its 10th anniversary on August 4th). In this week’s latest Summer Olympics drama, Bahamian sprinter Shaunea Miller embodied that spirt when she literally dove at the finish line to secure a gold medal in the 400 meter race.
“I just tried to give all I had,” Felix said. “I didn’t have more to give.”
In fact, the dive at the end was almost stride for stride remake of the ending to Talladega Nights, where Ricky races his nemesis to the finish line after totaling his car. The Internet had tons of hilarious reactions, but this video pretty much sums it up.
