Earl Sweatshirt & Knxwledge Find “Balance” On Their New Track

Earl Sweatshirt Knxwledge

UPDATE: Earl’s back with yet another single. Produced by Knxwledge, Earl’s new joint “Balance” is the latest song in Adult Swim’s 2016 Singles Program, and it’s as hazy and hefty as you’d expect. Knxwledge has been hard at work on his NxWorries album with Anderson .Paak and continuing to pump out solo beat tape while he and Earl both have a Red Bull Music Academy radio show together as well.

Peep the below and don’t forget that there’s still singles from Vince Staples, Run The Jewels, and Flying Lotus coming over the course of the next three months!

Earl Sweatshirt is an artist who plays by his own rules when he can afford to. He proved as much last year when he dropped I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside, an album that moved even further into the murky isolated territory only hinted at on his 2013 debut commercial project Doris.

Last night (July 31), an instrumental track called “Pelicula” surfaced on Apple Music. It’s a fitting title, since it jumps from John Carpenter style horror synths to grainy b-movie funk over the course of 20 seconds. Is this an interlude from a new album? A loosie that wound up on Apple Music instead of his popping Soundcloud? Only time will tell if his album will beat Frank Ocean’s to the finish line.

Earl is also reportedly working on a project with producer Knxwledge, with the first single dropping via Adult Swim’s Singles Program some time between now and November.
