Vince Staples dropped a hell of an EP last week in the form of Prima Donna. To match with the sonic departure from his full-length Summertime ’06 from last year, Staples has gone off the beaten path with a short film that uses all seven songs throughout. What starts as the big-headed Staples from the cover filming a music video for “Big Time” descends into cerebral commentary on race, celebrity, and the music industry.
