New Music Friday is here again. We’ve got some long-awaited projects, some buildups to bigger projects, and some fresh talent. Ride with us for New Music Friday.

Isaiah Rashad – The King’s Tirade

It seems as though every single long-awaited project is dropping in 2016. TDE signee Isaiah Rashad has been keeping fans waiting for this one since 2014’s Cilvia Demo EP, but after a handful of guest appearances and a spot in XXL’s 2014 Freshman Class, he fell quiet. His debut album The King’s Tirade was announced this week and is finally here, boasting features from Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, SZA, Sir and Syd the Kid with production from Mike WiLL Made-It, Dave Free, Cam O’Bbi, & more. Get busy.

Travis Scott – Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight

Kanye West protege Travis Scott caused a stir last year with his own oft-delayed joint Rodeo. After about a year’s worth of teasing from him and super producer Mike Dean, the followup Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight is (supposedly) dropping today. Keep your eyes and ears open for the warbles.

Hodgy Star – Dukkha

The splintering of Odd Future has led every former member in different directions. Tyler, The Creator continued pursuing his technicolor dreams, Earl Sweatshirt ventured deep into the mines of depression, and The Internet slowly took over new wave R&B. The rapper formerly known as Hodgy Beats was very quiet, having released a handful of projects to little fanfare. Now he’s back with a new name and a new project, which you can peep below.

Nef The Pharoah – Fresh Outta Space 3

After a spot on G-Eazy’s Endless Summer tour, California upstart Nef The Pharoah is ready with a new full-length project featuring Snoop Dogg and more. When the first song on someone’s project is called “Sway In The Morning,” you can’t say that doesn’t make you curious.

K Camp – Lyric Ave

After weeks of new freestyles and teases, K Camp’s latest joint Lyric Ave is ready for your ears. Boasting a sole feature from Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd, it’s 6 tracks of Camp raps that you’re sure to get into.

Wretch 32 – Growing Over Life

Former grime artist and UK mainstay Wretch 32 is back with a new 12-track album five years after 2011’s Black and White.

MUNDU – Qollapse

Time for some fresh talent. Mundu is an R&B singer/songwriter from South London who has an ear for smooth bouncing beats and sultry grooves. His latest EP Qollapse is an intimate and nicely composed project that’s a step in the right direction. Check it out below

Wax – The Cookout Chronicles

Wax has travelled the road from Youtube star to Def Jam signee and back to independence once again. The Cookout Chronicles is his third “mixtape” and boasts features from Open Mike Eagle, Awkwafina, Jarren Benton, G. Love, and more. Good vibes for your Labor Day weekend.
