Bell Biv Devoe Will Hypnotize New & Old Fans With “Run”

Multi-platinum trio Bell Biv Devoe — Ricky Bell, Mike Bivins and Ron Devoe — are back with a new song and video called “Run,” the lead single to their album Three Stripes ( how Boston is that?) slated for a January 27, 2017 release.

“Run” is produced by the legendary Eric Sermon and is built around a sample of trumpeter Herb Alpert’s “Rise,” which most will recognize as the foundation for Notorious B.I.G’s hit song “Hypnotize.”

BBD, the offshoot of  pioneering boy group New Edition, debuted in 1990 with the album Poison. Thanks to the title track, which deftly mixed hip-hop with R&B, and follow-ups like “Do Me” and “When Will I See You Smile Again” the album was certified quadruple platinum.

September 10th was the 20th anniversary of New Edition’s sixth studio album Home Again and BET  introduced a 3-part miniseries called “The New Edition Story” at their awards show earlier this year. It will premier on the network sometime in 2017.
