In case you needed another reason to stay home, Spike Lee’s 1986 film, She’s Gotta Have It is getting turned a Netflix series.
The film which recently turned 30 will be an updated adaptation for a 10 episode series. Spike Lee will be directing each episode while Tonya Lewis Lee will be the executive producer.
On Deadline, Spike reminsced about the success of his film. “SHE’S GOTTA HAVE IT Has A Very Special Place In My Heart,” he wrote. “We Shot This Film In 12 Days (2 Six Day Weeks) Way Back In The Back Back Of The Hot Summer Of 1985 For A Mere Total of $175,000. Funds That We Begged, Borrowed and Whatnot To Get That Money. This Is The 1st Official Spike Lee Feature Film Joint And Everything That We Have Been Blessed With In This Tough Business Of Film All Have Been Due To SGHI.”

She’s Gotta Have It the series will air sometime in 2017. We wonder who Spike will get to play Nola Darling.
