Chris Brown May Be Cleared of Gun Charges Soon

It looks like Chris Brown’s gun case may be closing very soon due to (you guessed it) lack of evidence. According to the district attorney in the case, the police have failed to gather more evidence in the additional two weeks they were given. TMZ states, “Authorities also have trouble pinning a gun to Chris. He threw a duffel bag out the window during the standoff and cops say they found two guns inside, but they’re worried the weapons can’t be tied to the singer.”

Finally some good news for Breezy.

Update: Despite TMZ’s claims of a bag of guns and drugs being thrown out of a window of Chris Brown’s home, the LAPD have found no drugs or guns in Breezy’s home. According to a statement from Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos,“It has become apparent that the allegations are not just false but fabricated.”

At 11:19 PM, Chris Brown was released from jail on $250,000 bail. The Royalty singer was arrested on the suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. According to NBC LA, he will be arraigned on September 20th. If convicted the 27-year old crooner could face up to four years in jail.

Ray J— who was also a witness to the events that occurred in Chris Brown’s house— spoke out on Breezy’s behalf.

Earlier today singer Chris Brown adamantly refuted claims by a woman that he threatened her with a gun in his California home. However, after first denying entry to the police, law enforcement officers obtained a warrant and searched his home. After removing guests from the house and performing a “protective sweep” Chris Brown was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

“Mr. Brown is going to be transported where he will be arrested for ADW — assault with a deadly weapon,” LAPD Lt. Chris Ramirez told reporters at around 5 p.m. local time (8 p.m. ET).

In an expletive filled rant on Instagram, Brown insisted he had done nothing wrong and that he was being targeted unfairly. His probation ended last year for his 2009 assault on R&B star Rihanna.

“Every three months, y’all come up with something, bro. What is it? What’s going to be next?” he asked, adding, “At the same time, when I call police for stalker people … they don’t come until the next day.”

The rant made the rounds on social media and the media attention prompted his neighbor, NBA player Nick Young to post a tongue-in-cheek video asking Brown to move out because he was bringing the property values down.

Brown’s alleged accuser, Baylee Curran, made her own post on Instagram stating: “Do you all honestly think I wanted this and I caused this? If somebody put a gun to your head, what would you do? Call the police?”  While that post has been removed and her account now set to private, her Instagram bio reads “Yes Chris Threatened Me.”

Chris Brown will be booked on Tuesday night or early Monday morning.
