It is with a heavy heart that we write Thomas Mikal Ford better known as Tommy Ford has passed away at the age of 52. TMZ reports that an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen and put him on life support earlier today. Earlier this month, the actor who is best known for his scene-stealing role as Tommy Strawn on “Martin” underwent knee replacement surgery.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Tommy took to Instagram to thank fans for their continuous support as he was working on his health with physical therapy. According to multiple reports, Tommy was suffering from numberous complications from the surgery before he slipped into unconsciousness during a check-up on Wednesday. Anthony Anderson, Martin Lawrence, and more took to Twitter to remember their late friend.

Tommy Ford was and will continue to be a gem in black television and film. He was known for his roles in “Martin,” “The Parkers,” “Harlem Knights,” “New York Undercover” and much more. In fact, the 52-year old actor had three films completed and two more in post production in 2016.
