Anderson .Paak’s ‘Come Down’ Video Is An Ernie Barnes Painting Come To Life

Anderson .Paak Come Down

Anderson .Paak began 2016 on fire and it looks like he’ll be ending the year on the same hot streak. Between the explosion that was his breakthrough album Malibu, plenty of guest features, and the soulful grit of the NxWorries joint Yes Lawd! with Knxwledge, the flames are still burning. Malibu has been an album of the year contender since January, and today (October 31), Anderson just brought one of the standout tracks to life.

The video for “Come Down” ends with a shot of Ernie Barnes‘ iconic cover painting for Marvin Gaye‘s I Want You, which is apt given that “Come Down” is nothing short of a dance party. .Paak plays multiple roles throughout but that trademark energy and charisma he’s known for blends seamlessly with the atmosphere of Barnes’ original painting, re-contextualized for a new generation. There’s officially only two months left in 2016, and it’s safe to assume that he’ll be riding that fire to the very end. Check the video out above.
