Chicago Cubs Win World Series, Indians Clowned For Blowing 3-1 Lead

3-1-lead

The Chicago Cubs finally ended a 108 year drought in National Championships. The dramatic game seven in the World Series was tied in the 9th inning when it was paused on account of rain.

But after almost 5 hours of play Cubs Ben Zobrist hit a double that scored pinch runner Albert Almora Jr. with the winning run that gave the Cubs their first World Series championship since 1908 at exactly 2:47 a.m., on Nov. 3, 2016. The great “Goat Curse” had finally been lifted.

This meant everything to baseball fans and particularly Chicago Cubs fans who thought they would never see this happen in their lifetimes. However, casual sports buffs tuned in to see if Cleveland would bring home its second title of 2016, with the NBA’s Cavaliers notching their first in June. Adding to the anticipation is that the Cleveland Indians were up 3-1 in this series, just like the Golden State Warriors the Cavaliers dethroned. So when they ultimately lost the jokes came fast and furious.

Here are some of the best reactions to the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series.

Even Golden State Warriors Draymond Green couldn’t resist a snarky Tweet. At least he didn’t Snapchat it…
