Dynasty and Drift sound like the illest new superhero duo out and according to their producer and mentor Bpzy (Baby Paul), they are truly some lyrically enhanced beings. Drift hails from New Jersey and calls greats like Naughty By Nature, Lords of The Underground and the late Apache some of his biggest influences. Dynasty is a next generation femcee from Queens by way of Tampa Fla. who points to artists like Lauryn Hill, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte as her MC archetypes.
BpZy’s ears are to be trusted as he has laced beats for greats like Nas, AZ, Fat Joe and more. So when he finds two diamonds in the rough to put his time and energy into believe there is quality there.
“I like working with artists that truly understand hip-hop culture and respect the architects before them, who exemplify the art of Mc’ing and are lyricists in their own right,” he tells WatchLOUD. “It is my honor to support new artists and give them a voice that can stand out in a saturated urban music market.”
Drift has several tracks in rotation including, “BaG” ft. Nina Bobby, Clicquot Geno and the streeet singles “StreetRunner” and “Freaks Pt.2.” He also just bodied a freestyle on Statik Selektah’s “Showoff Radio” show on Shade 45. Look for his new project King Kojo in 2017.
Dynasty released her debut A Star In Life’s Clothing in 2013 and was dubbed a “spit queen” by Talib Kweli and DJ Premier. She just dropped a video to the blistering “Be” on Vevo and when you hear her flow over the upright bass and drums you will understand why BpZy was drawn to her.
